About Me
Travel Industry Professional Turned UX Designer
I am a customer-centric professional with relationship-building experience in businesses ranging from start-ups to multinational corporations. I come equipped with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology; in 2021 I graduated from CareerFoundry’s User Experience Design program; and in April 2022 completed an introductory course on Google Analytics.
Currently I work as a UX Designer for a B2B SaaS platform serving regional grocery retailers.
Why UX & What I Bring
In a sentence, 2020 demanded reflection. Prior to asserting my career pivot from the Travel Industry into UX Design, I mapped out foundational experiences, put on my anthropological hat, and teased out my key qualities, skills, and the enjoyment factor of each role. What I found was a favourable alignment with the necessary qualities to be a great UX Designer, and personal excitement for both the dynamic day-to-day and the career growth potential.
🧐 Curiosity
Studying sociocultural anthropology equipped me with a curious lens to uncover patterns and the logic of behaviour. It also taught me to embrace ambiguity — that’s where the magic is! This critical thinking has served me well in many facets of my life and in UX Design, particularly in the discovery and defining stages of any initiative. Understanding the why leads into purposeful ‘how might we’ solutions.
💡 Creativity
Creative problem-solving is not new territory. Sorting out the logistics of shipping 1000lbs of custom steel trays to the middle east? Sure! Clients are stuck in destination? I’ll get you home! You have 46-days and want a tailor-made holiday through SE Asia? I’d love to design and book that for you. I like to think that being creative allows me to be adaptable.
💗 Care
People are the heart of, well, everything! My personality type happens to be advocate (INFJ) and this has been demonstrated in all my roles from recruitment back to formative experiences such as being a swimming instructor and a personal support worker. A keen sense of empathy is core to who I am and results in crafting valuable products with profitable outcomes.
🙌 Collaboration
Brainstorming sessions... feedback... communication with cross-functional teams... these elements of work (and beyond) get me jazzed! I really value self-development and a growth mindset and collaboration is a wonderful opportunity to learn. Everyone comes with a unique perspective, and by exercising empathy, patience, and respect, efforts can be optimized for great outcomes.

16 countries. As the saying goes, ‘it’s not the destination, it’s the journey’ but if I had to name my top 3 it’d be Portugal, Spain, Brazil.

Food (both eating and making), it's the coming together of people, it's tradition and invention, it's art and science.
